Fosfoquim participated as a sponsor of the Blueberries International Seminar 2015. This seminar took place on June the 10, on the Sheraton Santiago Hotel.
The seminar, organized by the Chilean Fresh Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX) in conjunction with the Chilean Blueberry Committee, was directed to producers, marketers and every intermediary in the production and commercialization chain.
The objective of this seminar was to improve some technical and commercial aspects in the production and commercialization of Chilean blueberry, as the phitosanitary challenge to export, improve in the use of natural resources and the challenges in the marketing of the product.
Fosfoquim sponsored this seminar as postharvest fumigation service provider to the industry using pure phosphine to control mealybugs (Pseudococcus spp.) in fresh fruit exports.
With Fosfoquim patented fumigation technology, it is not necessary to warm up the fruit for the fumigation process, maintaining the cold chain. In addition the phosphine fumigation al cold temperature does not harm the fruit, thus the industry has adopted this technology for blueberry shipment going to far-away destination, such as China, with great success during season 2014-15.
